Nope. Default does not have to be the last case. ASH follows C99 standards here. Put the break after default if you like, to make it not want to re-parse the pre-searched items. But it won't affect anything, since default, wherever it's found, works only if a specific case doesn't exist.

But you still wouldn't have a case after default.

You could. The default section can appear anywhere inside the switch - first, last, somewhere in the middle.

In other languages, I generally see it in one of two places:

- Last. All the special cases followed by "use this if it is none of the above".
- First. "Use this if I don't say otherwise", followed by all the specific cases of "saying otherwise".

Using one vs. the other is a matter of taste or style - and neither is more tasteful or stylish.

You CAN have the default somewhere in the middle, but that's less common and a bit more confusing. You might do that if you have a few cases that do stuff and then "fall into" the default.

In any case, the take-away message is that the "default" label does NOT mean "use every statement from here to the end of switch."

Autobasement isn't set up to eat anything (apart from Lucifers) so this is related to some kind of maximizer craziness.

After a somewhat extended hiatus and an update to the most current version, I once again find my script breaking at the Gauntlet.

Running as a level 29 sauceror, my auto-adventuring gets broken by being beaten up at the Gauntlet. Square sponge helmet and pants are readily available and, just by equipping them I can pass the test.

Last level broken was 133, with a base muscle of 409 and a modified (after switching to the sponge helmet and pants and with standard AutoBasement script potions) of 3389.

Well, if an item being avaluated is free, has no duration, or sets your effective stats to 0, any of those would cause that error... my guess is a reusable item that raises stats. Which? No clue.

It calls the initiation function (which is safe from the function that crashes when you run the script) and sets up all prices. What I did was add a bit of printouts telling me the mall price it uses since getting that to 0 should be the only reason why the error you encountered should show up. However any potion with a mallprice of less than or equal to 0 should get removed and in your copy as you can see some potions are removed as "bad priced" which is this feature.

So that is working as intended but some of the potions reported at 0 are not getting removed, however after the last potion that got printed in your first output and the next item that in your new output shows as 0 and isn't removed there is at least one potion of each stat which should've been printed before the crash, but this isn't happening which makes me stumped.

Just thought I'd chime in saying I'm also experiencing exactly the same error but on level 166.

Also while I'm here there's a curious little bug in which the discrepancy in HP between Travoltan Trousers and whatever it's trying to get me to wear makes an infinite loop trying to use Dr Galactic, but I didn't come to this for that bugs so haven't checked the whole thread for it.

Longstanding bug reported in its own thread. Related to requesting really high restoration rates when the Trousers are in use. Veracity has reduced it somewhat, but...
