Winterbay's Helpful Automatic Monsterbasher (WHAM)

It's your familiar... and it's a BatBrain problem, not a WHAM one. The mosquito-type familiars have -dmg as one of their batfactors fields, but BatBrain doesn't currently override it properly. If you want that message to go away... stop using an adorable seal larva. Or mosquito. Or robot reindeer. Those three are the ones with -dmg and that error message currently. :)
 
OK. Doesn't verbosity 10 have a side effect of not actually executing? I seem to recall something with verbosity and whether SmartStasis was actually allowed to run.

The character has plenty of ways to kill GROAR! but WHAM chose a bad approach. Any thoughts?
 
BatBrain (or batfactors) has wrong info for TS and LTS currently. It highly over-estimates their damage in cases where attack fails. We can see yours did, since you did one damage for your attack instead of 14, and one damage for TS instead of the 21 expected...
 
@Theraze: What is the correct information?

@frono: Good memory! That is, however, quite an old problem (mafia really didn't like printing multiple tables to the CLI for some reason). BatBrain no longer prints those, so verbosity 10 is safe for us and our children again.
 
Yes, when WHAM is set to run under verbosity 10 it will bypass the SS-integration (since 10 is for debugging and tries not to execute anything and SS does not play ball with this...) but I do think that that error should show up anyway. Not sure though.
 
Looks like the problem might just be that LTS/TS don't currently allow for fumbling/missing. And QWOP makes those skills miss as well, and that missing is currently handled through the fumbling code.

While I can't prove that it was in effect for Magus_Prime, it meets the given facts. :) Except possibly about believing the Attack would do actual damage, but... that could be expected through passive/familiar damage.
 
The character in post 1224 was not QWOPed up but it was a Sauceror with empty hands, I had been Kung-Fu Hustling before GROAR!, and I expected WHAM to choose a spell-slinging strategy to beat him. Sadly WHAM chose to cast Candyblast and attack physically.

My death was predicted in 3 rounds, right? Why'd it think 10 rounds to kill the monster was ok?

I've got just about everything permed, and should have had enough MP if it didn't use all the Disco skills.

Usually WHAM does a decent job for me, but once in a while I see something like this and scratch my head. I am running a lot of +ML in this ascension (because it's an oxy and I don't want to waste adventures leveling).

HCO AT, using a chef-staff because I don't want to potion up to be able to out-moxie stuff with the high ML. ;)
 
That is an excellent question. It ran into WHAM_round_limit which made it execute its current strategy and try to continue form there, but that does not explain how it got to the conclusion that it could do a 10-shotter when you would be dead in three rounds, even when considering the stuns from noodles (and I think the staff?). Would've been interesting to have had it on verbosity 9 or so to see more fo what went on.
 
And it did make it until round 11, so WHAM predicted that part accurately... it just estimated attack damage too low. Appears to be the same basic problem (1 damage attacks from the regular() calculation) that Magus_Prime had...

I added jalapeno and jabanero to my mood, and WHAM still says this:

I'm not sure what that means, but it used saucegeyser and stream of sauce and I gained HP and MP from the casts...

It probably means you aren't a sauceror, so you will take damage instead of getting beneficial splashback effects.

I take damage from the splashbacks, but it was still giving me HP and MP from flowing through them.


With as much spell damage as I was running, I was getting damaged from casting them without the spheres up, so usually WHAM picked Pastamancer spells or spells like Silent Squirt.

I am declaring my lack of lassoing to be a WHAM bug. I tried it by running SmartStasis and it lassos perfectly. Then I switched back to WHAM which runs its variant of SmartStasis and it did not lasso. Sorry for placing the blame on the wrong script.

WHAM_UseSeaLasso is true.

I'm suspecting that build_custom_WHAM() is somehow failing since WHAM also failed to use tangled rat tails for me. Winterbay do you still have a reason not to just call main@SmartStasis() so it can do its thing?
