Wild guess... you have the antique machete currently equipped, so the item_amount check it had was coming up empty and it was trying to get another, which doesn't work on one-time-per-ascension items. :)

Since we don't need to farm another if we're in SC, and if we were going to do it in SC it runs through the pull anyways, the r369 update should make that better. We're using available_amount instead, which should check for equipped items as well as the inventory.

And regarding the code to post into the gCLI, it's in that code block I gave above, or it was also posted a few up in 3937. But you shouldn't need to do that anymore... it should run on happily now. Unless you do something stupid like pulverize the machete, in which case... that's on you.

Ok, so I thought I was going to be seeing if the script hung in the same way on a boris account, instead I'm testing the new hidden city functionality, neat!

Seems to want to stop after each shrine, with Mafia throwing "You are currently in a choice." Obviously it may be particular to Boris, but I don't have another account at this step to test with. The message is the same for each altar, excepting the encounter name.

Okay... so here's a question for the people who know why things happen. Specifically combat macro things.

GMoB fights were throwing attack instead of the flyers. This was bad. Checked and it was running "item 2405;item 2092" for the rock band flyers and antique hand mirror, just 2405 for if you didn't have the mirror. Seemed to recall that I'd changed it to names before due to KoL not liking the item numbers, so I changed it back to the item name and committed it. Probably would have worked except for that I have both and apparently that's not the right way to do ambidextrous funkslinging... or at least, it gives the following error:
Invalid macro command encountered:
"item rock band flyers"
Unfortunately, the wiki doesn't seem to have anything on ambidextrous funkslinging in its CCS page, though the throw_items() page suggests that the right thing to do might be to put a comma between instead of the semicolon?

Anyways, I think what I'm going to do to try to fix automation is add a check for having funkslinging to the mirror check (since you need both it and the mirror) and if you have both, use a comma between the item names rather than having each item as its own and hoping that mafia will compress them, which is apparently what had originally been done. If any of my talking/thinking through it doesn't work... at least someone knows why I did that. :)
 
IF it's supposed to return like a KoL combat macro then it should be comma, but then it should be "use <item1>, <item2>" as well so I don't really know. Combat macros via combat filters are weird...
 
Well, will see next time if I end up with another pollen. What with the yearbook camera and needing to keep fighting until I get random combat as opposed to through NC choices, I actually end up with a mirror sometimes.

This is happening during the Level 8 quest. I am a Sauceror this run.

Is this perhaps some KoLmafia issue? I have seen "Stack overflow during ASH script" recently also someplace else. I think it was when I wanted to open up the Elven Paradise with a script.

Currently running KoLmafia version 12839.

I mean, it's no wonder that the stack would overflow when something keeps hammering it like this :)
The question is why is this happening.

Well, the main problem is that the function appears to loop forever without actually performing anything which probably lead to recursive eating of memory and resulted in the stack overflow. No idea why it would do that though. Haven't used the built-in mystfight-function for way too long since WHAM handles that so nicely :)
 
Same here... I've never actually used the built-in combat things that aren't forced. Jarls and Myst both run WHAM as CCS.
 
Alright. I am now a proud listener, I mean user of WHAM :-)

The stack overflow here seems to have been some weirdness in the fight against the Level 8 boss, Groar. I cleared that fight manually and was then able to proceed. It just would not work automated-ly, with or without WHAM.

Today the script died on the hidden city on me, so I manually got the orbs, got the triangles, and whooped the boss. I fired up the script, and it froze saying the hidden city wasn't done. I made the Staff of Ed, fired it up, still dead. I used the staff in the pyramid, still dead.

So I set the stage to true and this time it's going again.

I'm not sure why it continued to freeze, but if I have the Staff of Ed in my inventory or the pyramid opened, it should set the hidden city to a done status.
 
If you put the amulet together with anything, it won't auto-complete the step. It only skips it if the amulet is still un-combined, because that changes it from 1 item check to 4... plus the server hit to check if the amulet is gone from the staff having opened the pyramid.

I tried that first though....all the pieces in my inventory, and the script died at the hidden city not being done. It wouldn't print anything else after saying that it wasn't complete.
 
Huh... works for me and I've done it like that (manual Hidden City, run BCA after the amulet hits my inventory) about 10 times since putting that detection in without a single problem. Well, except for when it decided that the janitors were already in the park before they actually were, but...
 
I realize the new hidden city is still a work in progress (yay!), but right now, step 4 is an empty infinite loop, so proper message about doing it yourself is never printed. The other thing I noticed, is a antique machete is pulled even if you already have one.
 
That's actually only because mafia currently has a bug that makes that step 3 (where it actually relocates the pygmy janitors and gets the matches from them) never completes, since you can't automate relocating the janitors currently. The check only lets you relocate the janitors if you've already relocated them. :) I posted a bug report.
 
I've been working on full support for the revamped Hidden City for a couple of ascensions now and it seems to be working well, so I've just committed it. I did address the issue that Crowther noted with the antique machete being pulled even if you already have one. Some things I haven't done:
  • No support for sniffing shamans in The Hidden Apartment Building. bumcheekascend doesn't sniff anywhere else, but instead lets the combat script handle it, so I didn't implement sniffing here.
  • No support for sniffing bowlers in The Hidden Bowling Alley. Same reason as above.
  • No support for the Bowl of Scorpions in The Hidden Bowling Alley. My rationale here is that they're a bit pricy (500 meat) for a hardcore run, so this probably needs to be turned into a config option.
  • Removed unlocking of The Hidden Tavern since support for the Bowl of Scorpions hasn't been added yet.
In addition to the things listed above, I have two other concerns about the new implementation:
  • Since there is an equipment requirement to complete The Hidden Hospital, I'm not sure how well the current implementation will work in softcore mode. I seem to remember that there are some limitations on bumcheekascend automatically handling equipment in softcore mode. This limitation also appears to prevent clearing the dense lianas with the antique machete in softcore even in the previous implementation.
  • If you manually start collecting stone triangles before getting all the spheres, the new implementation just bails and tells you to figure it out. It expects to get all 4 spheres, then get all 4 triangles after the 4 spheres have been collected.
I haven't encountered the issue that Theraze described with the janitor relocation loop, which is weird. Hope I haven't stepped on anybody's toes with this update!
 
Wanted to let everybody know that I also just added skills to some of the automatic moods:
  • Item drop mood now includes Empathy and Singer's Faithful Ocelot
  • Meat drop mood now includes Empathy
  • Initiative mood now includes Walberg's Dim Bulb
