Mafia had no qualms equipping the item from my closet then putting it back. Throwing it in the display case helped though. Now I can't use the modifier maximizer for that unless I remember to pull it out first. *sigh*

Note that the "Never abort automation, even if restoration fails" option was added primarily for fronobulax to make use of for ascend.ash compatibility, but anyone who wants to ensure that UR will never abort can make use of it. If that is set to true and UR fails to heal up to the requested level, instead of aborting, UR will set baleUr_Trouble to true. Obviously I don't endorse that for most people's use, but fronobulax thinks the option will help ascend.ash greatly so I hope to help out.

I may (and likely will) add more ascend.ash compatibility into the script. Such behavior will be triggered when told "Never abort automation, even if restoration fails."

I do think I am very confused here
It looks like it is running multiple instances of Universal Recovery at one time so it is hard for me to follow.

People were complaining that UR would restore HP (with a scroll for example), then restore MP with an item that also restores HP, thus wasting the HP part of the MP restore. This is why a bit of MP is restored before the actual HP restoring process starts.

What happened was:
Code: 
1) Restored MP to your minimum MP target (in case some HP is restored in the process)
2) Looks for the cheapest HP restore you can buy in the mall (in the case, scroll of drastic healing @ 566.6667 meat)

4) Decides that using the skill is cheaper
-> restores MP
-> checks if HP was restored, and if casting is still the cheapest option
-> casts 20 Tongue
The script then cycles from 2 to 4 until HP is healed.

The problem comes from the script thinking that it takes 20 casts of Tongue to restore the target HP. This comes from line 627:

cast_quant() returns either the number of casts needed to meet the target, either the maximum number of casts that you can do with your current Max MP. The problem is that, when you compare the price of different options, it should only return the total number of casts needed. I guess cast_quant() could be replaced with:

Then Bale would have to go through all the places where cast_quant() is called, and decide if cast_quant_total() is supposed to be called instead.

EDIT:
In this case, it's just a matter of changing lines 472-477 to the snippet above, and then replacing q_skill by cast_quant_total(best_skill, target).ceil() in line 635

Just noticed that slyz's fix allows a division by 0 error. Fixed it. If you downloaded in the last 30 minutes (and you have no healing skills), you'll want to re-download.
 
ok i keep getting:
Restoring MP! Currently at 1125 of 1125 HP, 751 of 1126 MP, current meat: 190750 ... Target MP = 563.

but it doesn't heal in any way
 
Actuall, slyz, he's got a point. That's the message at the top of mp_heal() heal which should only be called if((objective != 0 && my_mp() <= amount) || (objective == 0 && my_mp()<= mp_autoheal)) or if mp is needed while healing hp. Something is wrong.

icon315, could you copy-paste your CLI around that area so I can see how/why UR was called. Also, tell me relevant information about your healing settings: Are you in aftercore, what are your MP restoration trigger and target level and what healing skills do you possess?
 
i think i figured it out, the mp auto heal trigger was set to 80%, but the heal to was set to 50%

I've been using this script for a long time, and I'd just like to say thanks for it, and for continuing to actually support and fix bugs on it! Can't say how much it's helped my runs

I did notice the following when running from the relay browser. I think I would have expected Trouble to be true after the failure to restore.

Oh heck. I should have expected THAT! What a silly error. What happened is that it failed to restore HP and set baleUr_Trouble to true. Then it checked for Mp restoration and everything was happy~ happy~ so it set it false. LoL! That makes the setting rather pointless. I'm going to have to replace the flag with two separate flags: baleUr_HPtrouble and baleUr_MPtrouble. K? Until I release you can copy-paste this into the script at line 1589-1594:

Heh, I would probably be a little less likely to only report bugs if i wasn't the bug-solver for my clan.
I have recommended this script to several of my clan mates and flat out told them "Download Universal Recovery, or I'm not going to help you solve your restoration problems."
I haven't used Mafia's built in one in so long I'm starting to forget how it works.

Works well enough for me. I don't need no stinkin' 3rd party add-ons. I play KoLmafia the way the designers INTENDED it to be played!

Wait. Haven't I heard people use that same argument as a reason to reject using KoLmaia as opposed to playing raw KoL in their browser?
