bumcheekcend.ash - A zero setup semi-automated ascension script!

> call scripts/bumcheekascend v0.23.ash

Bad skill value: "Ksesoesturm" (bumcheekascend v0.23.ash, line 550)

(about to enter the pyramid in 0.22)
mafia version r9260

best regards
Dave

WTF? I've been using it perfectly for a fortnight. Are you on Linux/Mac? I'm using a Win7 PC.

Delete that skill from line 550 (search for the following to find it if you don't have a text editor with line numbers:

Code:
Salsaball, Stream of Sauce, Saucestorm

Yep - Linux (Ubuntu 8.04LTS on a FitPC)

I loaded the script into my editor, and re-saved in utf-8 code page, and it seems to have started working again :-)

Thanks BCC
Dave

Mostly I've changed it to use my own version of the mystconsult at the moment (i.e. the one using batbrain and similar). I also did some changes to the myst-levelup part but I guess you may have poked at that allready so I'll get back to you on that after I've had a chance to look at it.

Edit: Especially since I ascended into a S-run recently and the built-in version didn't support S at that point in time :)

I'm also getting the line 550 error, running Mac OS X.

EDIT: script runs fine after searching for "K‰sesoflesturm" and replacing with "Käsesoßesturm." There is a second instance of it at line 687.

Käsesoßesturm it is then. I've reuploaded 0.23 with that change. Linux/Mac users may have to re-download or paste the above change themselves.

Bumcheek:

It appears version 21 for moxie classes still has a bug in that it when it reaches the pyramid it will think it had the wheel when it does not. It then will spend every turn in the 2nd level waiting to turn the wheel when it cannot.

Also for version 23 will your script max out on monster level? I mean as a sauceror with both spheres splashback for mana fill is a key component.

Been using ver 21 to run my multi as a moxie class and it does pretty well. But if ver 23 will max out ML and speed up the run I will give it a shot.

Thanks again for this fun script!

Add the bug to the sourceforge page with CLI output and/or information on how to recreate it (as I've not had it appear myself) and I'll take a look. But make sure you can replicate it with 0.23 first.

The script won't use sauceror stasis at all. It just attempts to kill monsters as efficiently as possible. The only ML the script will use is the ML from the MCD, and I'm not 100% sure that working perfectly on myst classes.

Care to enlighten on what it is not doing at the noob cave?

Edit: Well, it seems to actually be going there from time to time despite the assurance. I seem to have gained 5 lemons or so from Crates in the noob cave (they persisted even after a refresh inv).

It isn't doing anything because we have to use adv1() instead of run_combat(string filter) because the second function doesn't exist. Can I have cli output for when it DID adventure in the Noob Cave?

I have not bought a single lemon this round (possibly apart from when crafting things, and I don't think I've used lemons in anything) and yet I have 5 lemons in my inventory (they remained even after a refresh).

Edit: Also, yesterday (on .22 admittedly) it tried to level me up to:
Code:
 > BCC: We have completed the stage [macguffinprelim] and need to set it as so.

Which is 3 or 4 myst below level 13 while I was still on the level 11 quest, as you can see it was heading into the Palindome. I've no idea why it tried to get me that high on mainstat and not on buffed mainstat which would've been much easier...

hedge maze farming ...

I wish hedge maze puzzles were not quest items

(script got 1 hedge maze puzzle, then it dived off to the bedroom for some reason, then came back and got into some sort of loop)

Code:
[1424-1425] Sorceress' Hedge Maze
     -> Turn [1426] Dandy Lion (20 lbs)
     +> [1425] Got ten-leaf clover
[1426-1455] Haunted Ballroom
*> [1438] Started hunting zombie waltzers
     +> [1438] Got dance card
     +> [1440] Got dance card
     +> [1444] Got dance card
     +> [1447] Got dance card
     +> [1455] Got dance card
[1456-1495] Sorceress' Hedge Maze
-> Turn [1469] Jumpsuited Hound Dog (15 lbs)
[1496] Rest in your dwelling
[1496-1510] Sorceress' Hedge Maze
[1511] Rest in your dwelling
[1511-1575] Sorceress' Hedge Maze
     => Level 14 (Turn 1526)! (105/104/173)

finally ran out of turns while I was watering the garden

I have enough spare puzzles for the rest of the year :-)
> inv hedge
hedge maze puzzle (108)

went back to 0.22, and got an interesting error mesaage
Code:
Request 1 of 26 (Sorceress: Sorceress' Hedge Maze) in progress...

[1577] Sorceress' Hedge Maze
Encounter: hedge maze key
You acquire an item: hedge maze key
Unexpected hedge maze puzzle state.

Checking prerequisites...
Retrieving maze status...
Retrieving maze status...
Computing maze solution...
Executing final rotations...

now making my way up the tower ...

best regards
Dave

Found another support today for the idea that it in fact went to the Noob cave: I have 9 popsicle sticks in my inventory, an item that to the best of my knowlegde only drops there...

not sure how interested you still are in data points, but my first full run with the script (AT w/ 13 HC perms [not optimal perms either]) netted me an 8/1479, for a total of probably close to 20 minutes of my time (crypt before it was added, minor stop points). Couldn't be happier :)

Are there plans to eventually be able to set default gear? My lazy-style ascension strategy is to wear mostly Mr. Store equipment the whole time, unless I need to change for a quest, but the script keeps wanting to equip regular drops that have really low power levels. (Example: I had an ice sickle, and it switched to a sauce pan.)
