autoscend - a sl_ascend fork/continuation

there doesn't seem to be an option in the autoscend manager for setting an item budget, there's food budget but that wasn't relevant. Nor can I find autoSatisfyWithMall in the autoscend manager. My runs always last longer than ronin as I'm not IOTM rich so that's not an option. I would observe that my runs would go faster if autoscend was wiser with meat and didn't blow it on useless things and then have me die and struggle later because I can't buy restores which end up costing many more turns. It seems tuned for people who are trying for world records with unlimited budget rather than just ascending.

autoSatisfyWithMall is a KoLmafia preference.

You might also look at autoBuyPriceLimit, another KoLmafia preference. Assuming autoscend honors it, it should keep you from buying big ticket items.

See set and get at https://wiki.kolmafia.us/index.php?title=CLI_Reference if you need more information.

autoscend is designed for speed runs with reasonable resources including skills and IOTMs. If that is not something you are comfortable with then perhaps you should consider not using the script?

I found that if I allowed autoscend to abort on restore failures then I could sometimes deal with meat issues by manually restoring or manually adventuring. I also reduced the impact of meat failures by manually adventuring to get meat. That means I sometimes do the Tavern and Bat Hole sooner than autoscend wants. Same for Goblin King. I also will go for the harem girl outfit to get the 500 from the Treasury. The Lucky fight with the embezzler can help with meat. If Ronin matters then you might want to sees Hagnks with things you are willing to pull and autosell.

If you're consistently breaking ronin under Normal runs, might I recommend Hardcore instead? That would get you more karma and prevent autoscend accessing the mall.

Similarly, if you have very limited IoTMs, you might want to consider running some of the more overpowered avatar classes, such as Actually Ed the Undying or Avatar of Sneaky Pete.

I figured out why it hadn't happened before - I was farming the hobo binder zones, so I burned through more turns without progressing through the quests as fast as usual. It may be just that one zone with the crazy number to hit, I've not noticed that effect before.
