Usage of free rests for recovery

I'm wondering if there's any way to make mafia be more aggressive with free rests/nuns.

I'll often end a day with all of my free rests and nuns still available, and I'll have spent a fairly decent amount of meat on restores and items throughout the day.

I'm also wondering if it's possible to somehow have mafia auto-equip pantsgiving for rests before resting, like it does for equipment that gives discounts at stores before buying?

I can't speak to your core question but there is a script that does a pretty good job of handling restores during play: Universal Recovery. It was originally written by Bale and forked by @fronobulax in 2019 to keep the script functioning.

Yeah I actually use UR, I manually edited it to be a bit more aggressive with the rests and nuns and to equip pantsgiving
