Feature Request: Support for mutually-exclusive buffs in maximizer

It would be nice if the maximizer could take into account mutually-exclusive buffs when determining whether to recommend casting a buff. For example, if you have a fairy familiar and the "Who's Going to Pay This Drunken Sailor?" effect (+25% item), it would be nice if it maximizing "item" did not recommend casting the buff "Only Dogs Love a Drunken Sailor" (+5 familiar weight)--while gaining that buff would indeed increase the score, it is actually net-negative since you would also lose the existing, stronger buff.

Some similar cases (probably not exhaustive):
  • Crimbo 2025 shanties
  • Dreadsylvania songs
  • Facial expressions
  • Smooth Movements/Musk of the Moose
  • AT buffs (though this one is much more complicated since it's not just a single "slot")
  • Avatar of Boris songs

We have some mutexes in modifiers.txt:
Code:
# Mutually exclusive effects section of modifiers.txt
# Same as above
MutexE Shrieking Weasel/Power, Man/Lucky Struck/Ministrations in the Dark/Superdrifting none
MutexE Perceptive Pressure/Perspicacious Pressure/Pneumatic/Proficient Pressure/Puissant Pressure/Pulchritudinous Pressure none
MutexE Purple Tongue/Green Tongue/Orange Tongue/Red Tongue/Blue Tongue/Black Tongue none
MutexE Broken Heart/Fiery Heart/Cold Hearted/Sweet Heart/Withered Heart/Lustful Heart none

# While the groups below are mutex, replacing one effect with another is easy enough that other effects should be suggested anyway
# MutexE Snarl of the Timberwolf/Scowl of the Auk/Stiff Upper Lip/Patient Smile/Arched Eyebrow of the Archmage/Wizard Squint/Icy Glare/Wry Smile/Disco Leer/Disco Smirk/Suspicious Gaze/Knowing Smile none
# MutexE Cautious Prowl/Prideful Strut/Leisurely Amblin' none
# MutexE Pompadour/Cowlick/Fauxhawk/[1553]Slicked-Back Do none
# MutexE Coffeesphere/Oilsphere/Chocolatesphere/Gristlesphere none
# MutexE Song of Accompaniment/Song of Cockiness/Song of Fortune none
# MutexE Spirit of Bacon Grease/Spirit of Cayenne/Spirit of Garlic/Spirit of Peppermint/Spirit of Wormwood none
Why "other effects should be suggested anyway"? Not sure. The decision was made a long time ago. It could be revisited.

Thanks for the additional information and context. If I'm understanding correctly, the difference between these groups is that for effects in the first group, you would need to use a SGEEA or similar to purge an effect in order to apply a new one, so you probably don't want to suggest it at all since actually executing it would be complicated. This makes sense.

Similarly, it makes sense to suggest a facial expression even if you already have one. I just think that the score for such a suggestion should take into account the loss of the facial expression you already have (in the same way that the score for a piece of gear is relative to the piece you are already wearing).
