.net core?

When I opened KoLmafia today, I received a prompt to install .net core, but it did not open a page in my browser to install it. Which version should I install? Through some testing, I discovered it was KoL updater causing this. I was able to open the client when I removed the updater files from the same folder.

Mafia does not use .NET core at all. Something else did that. It only uses Java. DId you use an updater for it?

Start by figuring out which installer you are using and find the thread about it.
