I wanted to make the house of twigs and spit.
I used the gong from the item manager. My session log says
I then played one turn in the relay browser. I noticed I did not have form of a bird so investigated. I found no indication that I was in Bird or Roach from so used a gong from the relay browser and chose Bird.
That worked as expected. The fact that there was only one turn between the two gong uses suggests that using the gong from the item manager did nothing but logged otherwise.
choice 276 is set to 1.
I burned 15 turns in the relay browser and the relay browser indicated I no longer was on Bird Form. I then tried to run @Veracity Meat Farm and it refused because I was in a limit mode. I logged out and then back in and VMF ran fine.
So..
I don't understand what happened when I used the gong from Item Manager. With the choice adventure set doing so was Operator Error but AFAIK I did not actually have Form of a Roach as implied by the log. It is quite possible I misunderstand something about gong mechanics but I could not find anything that said I had any Form.
I have not looked at VMF but I expect that it is checking a preference or status that needed to be reset when Form expired and it wasn't reset.
I'm totally prepared for all of this to be operator error but...
