Maximize with -acc seems to lead to non-optimal results.
If I were to guess what is happening, it looks like the maximizer runs through equipment to determine the best option for each slot, then selectively eliminates that slot and that equipment for each -slot. This works fine for everything except accs, because there are 3 equivalent slots. As a result, if the best maximized accessory would be in acc1, and -acc1 is present, then the resulting accessories do not include that best accessory.
As a workaround and because maximize fills acc1, acc2, acc3 in order you can "solve" this problem by using -acc3 instead of -acc1.
In between each of the mazimize calls below, I removed all equipment.
The backup camera should be the best accessory as it has the most +ML, but in the case of the -acc1 keyword it is not equipped. This does not happen if the same mazimize is used with -acc3.
