Maximizer and the law of diminishing marginal returns

So, I happened to be watching the console while my aftercore turns were running and I see the Maximizer iterating over all the permutations of my stuff. 2.2 Million combinations, in this case.

It's working as intended, yes, but I could throttle it back and tell it "you know, after 70K you've probably got it."

I'm not looking for any change, just wondering if anyone has experience with limiting maximizer and either regretting it or finding that it made no difference.

My usual approach is to hardcode certain slots (e.g. offhand, due to hobo power / smithsness) that tend to lead to combinatorial explosion. That and caching maximizer output via custom outfits during the course of running scripts.

I limit to 100k and put equipment that causes a combination explosion (brimstone synergy etc) that I know won't be chosen in my display case so it's not considered.

I have mine set to 500K and just recently that became an issue with some combination of "maximize item, sea" where it didn't actually get far enough to meet the sea requirement. I just removed "item" from those lines as I was mostly just trying to free dad and not farm. My inventory is totally packed with options.

yeah, I recall sea being a (sea) monkey wrench in the maximizer.

Thanks all, 111111 is my temporary solution. If it's not high enough, I guess I'll never know. :)
