Feature - Rejected Hookah Counter

I honestly can't believe I didn't find a feature request for this, but then I might not have looked and enough.

Similar to Semi-rares and Yellow Rays, Hookahs have a cooldown until they can be exploit...I mean used again. Once you get smoke blown in your face, you have up to 6 turns (including the one you're in) of the effect before it can give you cancer again. While you only get 6 turns of the effect, the effect can be added to an already existing effect making tracking the effect rather useless when you then have 24,000+ turns of it left. Therefore, I am requesting a hookah counter to count down the turns left until it can fire again.

And if there is a request for this, please merge this and accept my apologies ^^

Do you mean you want to change you familiar equipment every 5 (or is it 6?) turns? I don't think the hookah buffs are optimal enough in any situation to consider doing this, but I may be wrong.

Just a counter. Provide the information and let us have our way with it, same as with the He-boulder rays before KoL added the effects.

The only odd thing to watch is the hookah counts down at the start of each combat, not necessarily after each turn. People have been able to layer on effects by using a MASSIVE amount of poppers without spending one turn. This is similar to the stinky cheese, as free runaways and only combat adventures count.

Edit: Well, maybe not the start of the battle, but you get the idea.

I don't think anyone will spend time implementing this just because it is something that happens on a known counter. Explaining why it would be useful would help ^^

You can't wear different equipment for 5 turns and then switch to the hookah because you need to wear the hookah the entire time. I'm pretty sure the two use cases for the hookah are either wearing it for random effects that wear off right as you get the new effect or using poppers/etc to get every buff imaginable. I don't think either case benefits from a counter to track when you will get the buff.

Really? ... <read read read> I definitely didn't read it like that before. Odd though, reading the wiki's talk page and the forum linked therein didn't answer that question directly.
...
<test test test> I just HAD to test this myself. Yup, gotta have it equipped the whole time. Eh, I guess the counter really wouldn't be useful then. Though if you do switch around equipment and/or familiars, it could be nice in letting you know when your next puff of smoke is coming. Other than that, not as handy as I imagined :/

Consider this FReq withdrawn.

He was thinking you could equip the hookah to get an effect every 6 turns and have something better equipped the rest of the time.

I find that getting a random effect and +5 familiar weight is quite often the best I have so I see no reason for that :) (but I do not have every item in the game)
