cheking system messages

Is there a way to script system messages? I'm looking to process when k-mail's come in, or when people have logged on. I've searched all over the forums, and I can't find anything. It's possible I missed something though.

I have one actually. I've worked very hard at figuring out how to get it to recognize "Events", but nothing I do......

Scratch that. I figured it out. Thanks for pointing me in the right direction.
