Balancing experience against ML

Ran in to an interesting scenario. Using the Maximizer, when I want to increase, for example, Moxie experience alone for a Disco Bandit, I can use

+Moxie experience -.125 ML
This way, it'll figure in equipment that doesn't increase ML while still giving the best experience. And of course just using "exp" when ML isn't an issue. However, it's difficult to find a middle ground. I can't seem to come up with a way to set a min or a max so I can only set a certain amount of ML. My brains are chowder, so I thought maybe someone else could give it a shot.
