Validating adventure sequence...

When I try to auto adventure with Mafia it tells me "Validating adventure sequence..." and does nothing more than that. I think this is because Mafia thinks I am in a fight even though I am not.

Is there a way to reset this without logging out and logging in again?

Adventuring manually a few adventures does not help.

Also is there an IRC channel? #kolmafia on freenode is empty and that was the only one I could find with google.

That's the only one that was ever used. I guess there wasn't enough interest for the few people that tried using it to stay in the channel.
