Winterbay's Helpful Automatic Monsterbasher (WHAM)

Same problem with noodles. I'll try the version in post #180. I must have gotten the earlier version between the time you thought only one person had looked at it and you replaceabled it. This is a fine example of how version numbers could be used to avoid user confusion and frustration but then I am one of those people who get much more annoyed (and I chose the word deliberately) when two identical versions have different code than when versions change quickly and I have to update often. ;-)
 
Yeah I know. I could've gone for 2.8.1 or something, but I think it wouldn't have mattered very much since zlib only checks for updates once per day anyway.

Edit: Either that or the download counter is confused because I know that three people have said they have downloaded the version in post one but it still says "0 views" here...

Isn't there another thread about problems with Zarqon's database? Maybe that's the difference?
 
Z's database file problem is with his script users so I don't think it would apply.

2.8.1. 2.8.2 and so on would let me check if I deliberately blew away Z's file to force a new check. it would also mean I could report the following with 2.8.2 instead of with the version in post #180.

Without digging any deeper I find it puzzling that it suddenly can't enqueue the item that it has just been using. Maybe there are some settings I am using that are unexpected?

Irrelevant here, since he's comparing the information from what people post on this forum to the information this forum provides about how many times an attachment has been downloaded.

I think the forum's value might be delayed in updating, maybe. I never figured it out, but google probably knows.

Also, that is indeed puzzling. Without having it happen on higher verbosity it's hard to say since I can't see the transfer between SS and WHAM. Actually 4 might've been enough (that'll printout the attempted strategy before performing it).

But it appears that the version I currently have on my disk is at least not double-enqueueing the stun so I'll bump version to 2.8.1 and hope that that part is at least solved :)
 
2.8.1 seems to be behaving rather nicely in comparison. I take back all the bad things I thought.

What was it attempting to do? Do you have a longer cli-output?
 
That said I have some nice changes coming up, but I wanted to check one thing with those who have the Operation Patriot Shield:
When you are automating with it, how do you expect it to be used?

I usual like to use throw shield before attack to guarantee a hit when a critical will kill the monster. Or if it will take two hits to kill the monster I cast noodles followed by a throw shield, attack, shieldbutt to kill the monster. If I suspect that won't do enough I use throw shield to critical noodle so that I'll have more than 2 turns to do the killing.

Hopefully that is sufficiently detailed. :) Other than that, the only real combat ability is the +100 to hit stat as a disco bandit which ensures my attack is accurate even with a lot of ML. However that isn't something you need to worry about.

The script disregards any attacks that may make you get Cunctatitis. Do you in fact have two Rain-doh blue balls? Or is only one usable per fight or something?

That said, I just laughed as WHAM killed the big wisniewski by throwing 49 clobber at him :)
 
2.8.2 has been released which should fix some of the oddities reported above as well as fix the bugbear olfactioning it was intended to do.

Edit: It also fixes the following:
Fix horrible bug that would make SC and TT attack skills be ok only if you were wearing Trusty...

I am slightly surprised that no one noticed that until I ran a SC and wondered why it never even tried using Thrust smack...

Also, the printout after a fight ends without WHAM figuring out a strategy should contain a) all your skills and items regardless of hitchance and b) print the ones above your setting with blue text and the ones below with red.

Monster was a trendy bugbear chef, using WHAM 2.8.2, and I do NOT have ambidextrous funkslinging...
 
Hmm... What are your WHAM_ settings? I would've thought that the maxround-setting would've stopped that from happening...
But I guess since the round didn't actually progress BatBrain thought it was still round 2 and so the mess continued. That said, I guess using a PADL-phone against anything outside the battlefield (including the bugbear that is on it) is the real problem.

ETA: As such it is probably more of a BatBrain bug really, but I can patch it for now :)
