Bug - Waiting for Info stuck in pending state (split from 10304)

Build r11075 will not create from item manager with the exception of queued food or booze. Rolling back to r11074 works.

I have had this issue with Mafia since the beginning of May. I have tried pulling down the most recent builds and I still have the problem. What happens in my case is when I first open Mafia ( I am currently running v15.2 r11070) I can craft in the item manager. After a few turns of running adventures the item manager will grey out all buttons. If I close the item manager and reopen it I can graft or consume one item then it will be grey again until I close and reopen it. Once the buttons in the item manger have greyed out, I cannot set Mafia to run turns in a zone automatically and chat (the old version not the new, I have tried the new chat with this) tends to quit working. I have a debug log from June 5th if you would like to see it I have attached it.

Your description describes you being stuck in a pending state, which really has nothing to do with the item manager. That's just one symptom of it. I split this to a new thread.

How are you adventuring? Relay, ASH script, etc?

The problem will arise in either case. When I adventure from the Relay it will show up as the main Mafia window left pane turning from green to grey. When I launch a script (which I can only do near the beginning of launching Mafia) the script will eventually hang (usually after no more than about 20 adventures). I have tried looking through the graphical CLI to see if I can see evidence of the culprit but have not seen anything suspicious. If I get another debug log I will post it. I am trying to get a later version running now and if the issue still exists with that I will add that as well.

Well, you're doing something that nobody else is doing. Can you reproduce the problem when running a fresh copy of mafia in a new folder?

I have pulled down r11102 and placed it in a new folder. I launched it and had Mafia run 25 adventures. After 12 adventures it has done the same thing that the older versions have done. I am beginning to wonder if it might be something else installed on the browser or the version of Java causing the problem since I seem to be the only person that this is happening to. Does anyone know of any problems with the most recent Java update for Firefox or the most recent update to Firefox?

When I go through the CLI (which I did every time it happened today) there was nothing in the CLI except adventure information. There was no mention of an error or even something that wouldn't normally appear in the CLI. When it greyed out earlier today the CLI hung up in the middle of upping a buff before starting the next adventure.

None taken, it took a bit longer than it has taken in the past to get it to hang up but it finally happened in the midst of getting drinks ready.

I ran a session on my alt this morning. When I tried having mafia script through a region I was running it in 10 turn increments and never could get it to hang. I decided to run through Themthar Hills and setup a 20 turn script run Mafia froze up at 15 turns into the script. After Mafia froze up I could still adventure in the relay browser but I couldn't set a script to run and the sidebar of the Mafia pane had the familiar greyed out appearance. Below is the full CLI from the session, the lock up occurs in turn 1381 where the phrase "KoLmafia declares world peace." occurs.

My only guess (which could easily be wrong) is that for some reason your mood started to run during combat, somehow. But then I would think there should also be a "Mood failed to cast ..." line in there. Unless being in the middle of combat caused something to override that message getting printed.

When this happens, "graygui force" should get mafia back to being usable. That's just fixing the symptom for whatever the problem is, though.
