Mafia keeps trying to create me a chef in the box

New member
I already have one in my campground but it keeps trying to make me a new one. Any quick fixes?
This is what it says in CLI

Quick fix? Sure. Kinda sorta quick, anyway.
Make a new folder for KoLmafia.
Download whichever version you want (12.7? Build 6601?) into your new folder.
Run your new KoLmafia. If it's still trying to make a chef, you're haunted.
Don't forget to set all your Preferences!

A little less drastic fix? No download, no new folder. Go to your current KoLmafia folder (directory), into the "settings" subdirectory. Rename the prefs file that has your account name -- like storelladeville_prefs.txt for instance. Launch your old KoLmafia, make sure to set all your Preferences.

I'm only guessing / hoping you use Windows. If you use a Mac, I don't know about the folders and filenames. Good luck!
