Bug - Not A Bug Insult tracker permanently stuck at 8/8

I mean the part above the Cove that says "Insult tracking: 8/8" and the Big Book in the combat item menu. The probability calculator in the insult adventure itself seems to count the insults properly.

Anyway, this has been happening for at least 5-6 ascensions. I don't know why it's only started to bother me now, but there you go. I searched for a solution here and found some thread where someone complained about it, another person offered a solution (didn't work for me), and then a third person was like "well, this is handled in [some part of Kolmafia code] so I'm going to close this."

You are using Mr. Script, and that is the source of this problem. If you really think it's a mafia problem, disable it to check first.

The only time KoLmafia displays an insult counter is when you are in combat with a pirate. It adds a counter that says "Insults: xxx (yyy%)" up near the image of the pirate, where it shows the pirate's HP and so on.

What Greasemonkey scripts are you running?
