How to run Mafia in windows and ubuntu via dropbox?

I am running XP on one computer and Ubuntu on another. I had to swap a Windows 7 netbook for one with Ubuntu. I was using dropbox and would like to continue doing so.

How do I set up dropbox to be able to run on both Ubuntu and XP?

Setting up a symlink to point /usr/USERNAME/.kolmafia to /home/Desktop/My Dropbox or something should work.

Or of course, wherever mafia stores its files. Been a long time since I used Linux.

I am missing one more step or messed up something. How do I create a link to run the java string to start mafia and add it to my launcher? I used the Wiki to set up a link which opens the mafia folder. I can open a terminal, navigate to the mafia folder and use the java string to run the jar. I would like to run mafia from my launcher. I am such a Linux noob! Thanks.

Edit:I think I go it figured out. The file permissions were not set as executable. As for pinning, just right click while it is running on the icon in the launcher aand select pin.
