Should there be an exception to "You can't hit anything there" for overgrown shrine?

So, current character is an AT and attempting the Hidden City. I have an antique machete.

In the relay browser, I can click the overgrown shrines, but I can't (as I'd like to do) automate 4 turns in a shrine in the gui.

Code:
Wielding antique machete...
Equipment changed.
Validating adventure sequence...

[COLOR="#FF0000"]You can't hit anything there.[/COLOR]
From the Relay Browser...
Code:
[843] An Overgrown Shrine (Northwest)
Encounter: dense liana
Round 0: Darwinlet wins initiative!
Round 1: Darwinlet wins the fight!
After Battle: You gain 10 hit points
After Battle: You gain 9 Mojo Points

This combat did not cost a turn

It seems to me that
A: I can hit everything there.
B: My raw mainstat of 144 and modified mainstat of 280 is high enough not to get the warning.

So, kudos for detecting that I couldn't hit at this ML with a machete, but not so much for the specifics of it.

Is there a way to override that in the GUI or from the gCLI? If not, is using the relay browser instead of the GUI my best choice?

In Adventure window, Custom Combat tab, if you set your combat action to anything other than "attack with weapon" you shouldn't get that warning, I think.
