Fairy worn boots IOTM familiar can stomp non boss enemies into pastes that you can chew (spleen items).
Mafia automatically tracks the uses of that skill. That familiar can stomp a maximum of 7 enemies a day into paste.
However mafia tracks it incorrectly, it tracks how many times you used the "release the boots" skill to stomp enemies, not how many time it succeeded in creating paste. KoL lets you keep on using stomp until you successfully create 7 pastes.
Thus if you release the boots against an invalid target it will deal damage but not create paste and not use up one of your 7 charges a day limit.
This results in mafia reporting things like 8/7 stomps used.
