When learning the rave skills for the DB nemesis quest, I use copied monsters in putty (as an olfaction substitute, when I'm down to one monster's skill left to learn). Normally mafia highlights the special attack where you should use Gothy Handwave, but it doesn't do it for the putty mobs.
I guess mafia assumes location matters, but it doesn't seem to.
