That character does have a Barrel Shrine. There were no tooltips like you describe.

My recollection, perhaps incorrect, was that none of the barrels on the first "screen" were decorated but after turning the crank they were decorated.

Huh. I could have sworn that I saw the decorations and predicted results the last time I visited, which was a week or so ago. The character with access to the barrels is overdrunk but I will check first thing tomorrow.

FWIW: when I use the barrels I normally do so via the relay browser.

I use BatBrain in the same way and it hit me immediately after updating KoLmafia to any release later than r26738. The first thing I, normally, do after logging in is to complete the Daily Dungeon and in every combat I get the error described. I will check r26759 this morning. Edit: Tested...

My hopes were the same as yours. A quick fix or a reversion. I think that there are quite a few people using BatBrain in one way or another.

I don't know the code well enough to say for sure but could it be connected with the changes made in r26737? In that release vykea was made a reserved word.

Something in this change broke BatBrain.

Something in the changes introduced in KoLmafia r26739 caused this. Perhaps @gausie can weigh in. For now I recommend reverting to r26738.

I can't speak to your core question but there is a script that does a pretty good job of handling restores during play: Universal Recovery. It was originally written by Bale and forked by @fronobulax in 2019 to keep the script functioning.
