Script Noob Asking Some Questions

Hey all!

I recently downloaded mafia, and need some help. Mafia is great, and the community scripts are amazing. I'd like to get far more involved in the nitty gritty aspects of the application, but I don't even know where to begin.

What language is it written in?
Where do I even go in mafia to start writing a script?
Is there a Mafia Scripting for Dummies?
And anything else a completely green mafia player needs to know when getting his feet wet scripting.

Welcome to KoLmafia and scripting.
Most scripts are written in ASH, although there is work underway to support JavaScript.
You may want to look at the documentation , especially ASH for Beginners.
Those links should get you started.

He says Ash for Beginners. I say SinginSally's Guide which was written to answer similar questions. SinginSally hasn't been around since 2010 so there may be game or language features that have been updated since but it is easier to start there and ask questions than flail about.
