Relay override scripts have never worked for me. Help?

I am using the latest version of mafia with Chrome as my relay browser. I have tried many different relay override scripts including bale's collection and others. I have never seen the extra information in my browser like I see in the screenshots. I have put the files in my relay folder and used the SVN more recently, neither seems to work. I have tried deleting all but one at a time, with no result. I have tried in chrome, firefox, and safari. I am using OSX 10.8.4

The dropdown list of 'executable' scripts (relay_slime.ash, etc.) in the top pane is usable.

I have searched through mafia's preferences but was unable to find a switch or setting I hadn't tried before.

If someone could tell me exactly how i'm being an idiot I would sincerely appreciate it. What have I done? Or what haven't I done?

edited to add operating system and more information.

There is no setting to disable relay overrides. There was such a setting once, but it was removed because of sanity. If you've got a recent version of KoLmafia then the setting isn't there.

If you're installing with SVN then I cannot say that you put it in the wrong directory. You've even failed with multiple scripts. You even imply you know where the /relay directory is located since you have script like relay_slime.ash there.

In short, I am stumped. Let's try an exercise, just because it might possibly shake something loose. Please follow the following steps. Exactly. (There's a reason for the strangeness.) Anything in blue I expect you to copy/paste into KoLmafia's gCLI box and then press enter.

  1. Copy/paste to the CLI and press enter: svn delete bale-relay-topmenu
  2. Copy/paste to the CLI and press enter: svn checkout https://svn.code.sf.net/p/bale/relay/code/topmenu
  3. Repeat step 1.
  4. Repeat step 2.
  5. Look at the KoLmafia window: Is the left side green? If not, then click the refresh button at the bottom.
  6. Open KoL in the relay browser.
  7. Look at the KoLmafia window is the left side green? If not, then we might possibly have a problem to discuss so report back here with that information and copy/paste output from the CLI.
  8. Look at the topmenu of the relay browser, does it have a hobopolis fort on the left side? Report back back here with that information. (If it failed, copy/paste the output from your CLI into this thread.)

OH! The screenshot reveals a possible problem! I'm embarrassed it didn't occur to me. The topmenu relay doesn't work with the icon version of the topmenu. Sorry. I never did figure out how that works.

Go to KoL options. I believe that is the little wrench icon. Then in the main panel, under Top Menu Style, select "Links".

Does the topmenu override work now? If you don't like the link style menu, feel free to switch back once we've verified that overrides work.

I tried switching to links, didn't seem to help. Also screenshots of woods, manor, and telescope possibly not working along with my svn list.

Would it be possible that the old setting hiding relay overrides have been left in settings file somewhere and is confusing Mafia or has all references to it been removed from Maifa's code and so even if it's there it won't matter?

It has been removed from mafia's code so it won't do anything.

I have no ideas for why this could be happening.

We can tell it's trying to work. The first screenshot shows the menu and skills link in icon mode. Then his top menu runs in to icons and stops.
The other 3 shots afterward show nothing working. 10 to one says this is "as it should" so what in mafia would cause something to bypass the relay script? The only thing I can think of is a master relay override.

What do you get when you put in thisin the CLI?: get masterRelayOverride

With SVN, the masterRelayOverride setting has basically lost its purpose - since it was added to easily get a set of relay overrides in without the user needing to fuss about all the details. I wonder if it might be time to retire it...

I like my masterRelayOverride... It makes it easy to add or remove an override from different pages and makes it so you can use the same override for many pages without having one file for each different page in the relay-folder.
It does require all overrides to be importable though I guess.

True... that is a benefit of the master, being able to use the same modifier on multiple pages. And possibly being able to handle new/unknown pages automatically.

Might be worth exposing to the visible Options panel though, probably in Relay Browser. Since it does basically obviate all the other relay settings if you have an invalid setting there...
