I figured out a workaround for my issue, since it only really needs to get me through for a couple weeks -- my good laptop is away getting repairs, so I'm on a temporary loaner until then. The workaround is that I tried opening the .jar file straight from a flash drive, rather than a kolmafia...

So: there was some weird issue with my new (and temporary) laptop, where on a reboot, it was trying to sign me in as some user that didn't exist any more. So I did a full reset of it, reinstall of Windows 10 and all that. I was hoping that something that simple would just fix the issue...

Is there an earlier version of Java 8 that I could try it with?

Just wondering, is there a way to edit the suggested semi-rares when your SR number comes up? As nice as it probably used to be, getting that Bad ASCII Art doesn't really seem so appealing these days. Certainly not as appealing as 50 turns of Fishy or a fight against a full-length mirror might be.

14336 never showed up in the list of builds at http://builds.kolmafia.us/ I tried 14337, which did not work.

Bummer. Anything you think I could do on my end that would let me get back to using the newer .jar files?

The part that baffled me was that stuff before a certain release time/date worked (and still works) fine, but anything after that point didn't work. My first thought was that the update messed something up on my end, but I think that probably would've made all the .jar files not work.

Oh right. I'm using Windows 7, and just recently gave in to Java's constant prodding to upgrade (Version 7 Upgrade 67, does that sound right?) And yeah, I suppose the file size thing was in fact just me grasping at straws.
