    recently updated computers. the .exe versions of mafia work after installing java but when I try to open a .jar it wants me to choose a file to open and only wants to let me try to use the kol installer. any ideas?

    Tried that and getting a x error notice that says failed to launch JVM. second error after clicking ok on that one says Child process exited with code 1. Reviewed https://kolmafia.us/threads/yet-another-auto-updater-for-windows.26000/ also trying to troubleshoot. installed the advised versions...

    Still not able to get mafia going exactly though I'd had some help sorta getting kolmafia 21 but not able to get it updated and this new github is 1000000000% confusing. Can I get some more advise in very basic terms.
