KOLMafia contribution

I've been using mafia for a while, and I would like to help with it. I'm a decent java programmer and I would like to contribute to the codebase. I know I have svn access, but I don't know what the standards are for 'outsiders' who wish to contribute. Or should I just make tickets for the things I'd like to see implemented and cheer from the sidelines?

If I recall correctly, you can submit patch files for review by Veracity, Holatuwol or JasonHarper and if they approve of your work and style, it can be added in... if you're a true scripting genius, eventually you can do the submissions yourself. This info is based on some other posts I've read and is in no way definitively how things work at the present time.
