View Full Version : Not Implimented?

There seem to be quite a few things that weren't implimented (on purpose) in kolmafia's ASH scripting. A few of them I can understand (like some mall buying functions that would make mallbots too easy), but some others make no sense to me. For example, why can't you access the KoL date? What's wrong with scripting holidays?

I'm not challenging Holatuwol's authority. It's his program, and it's up to him what goes into it. But how does it benefit the kolmafia community to supress some of these ASH functions?

I think part of it is/was that mafia was, from what I understand, a tool to be used to make it so you didn't have to sit through all the mundane boredom of certain repetitive times. Holidays are a special occurance, that are supposed to be enjoyed, not botted away. At least that's the general feeling I've gotten.

macman pretty much sums up how I have been looking at it. (Yay KoL Holidays =D)

PS. You "can" access the KoL date with new functionality (hense the "is/was" in macman's post) with the new string checking and url thing though.
